High efficiency, superior technology comes to Phoenixville

Waste water treatment generates high amounts of sludge and past strategies focussed on reducing sludge quantity or disposing of it. Hydrothermal Carbonization makes it possible to transform biosolids into legitimate sources of carbon energy but significant dewatering must occur prior.

Anaerobic Digestion (AD) uses a centrifuge to spin moisture out of sludge but it’s highly inefficient and PXVNEO’s newly installed press delivers high efficiency to the Borough’s new wastewater treatment plant HTC system. Bucher presses provide the superior technology for processing municipal and industrial sludge to yield filter cake with the lowest possible moisture content.

Jeremy Taylor, Chief Sustainability Officer at Somax Circular Solutions, introduces us to the component that will allow PXVNEO to double the amount of dewatering of solids compared Phoenixville’s existing AD system.
